Our Story
Heather Stackus Counseling and Consulting, LLC was founded in 2021 by Heather Stackus after more than a decade of serving as a professional School Counselor with Baltimore County Public Schools. Inspired by her passion for helping others and her belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care, Heather created a practice centered on authenticity, connection, and healing.
Known for her empathy, compassionate honesty, and ability to create a calm, welcoming environment, Heather has helped children, adolescents, and adults—beginning at age six—navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and life's many challenges. Her therapeutic approach focuses on empowering clients to build resilience, recognize their strengths, and develop the confidence to pursue meaningful, fulfilling lives.
Since its founding, Heather Stackus Counseling and Consulting, LLC has grown into a trusted team of dedicated, licensed therapists who share a common mission: providing exceptional, client-centered mental health care through accessible telehealth services. Together, we offer a supportive and inclusive space where individuals, couples, and families can feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
In addition to counseling services, our practice has expanded to include a variety of health and wellness offerings designed to support the whole person. We are proud of the community we have built and remain committed to growing our team, expanding our services, and helping more individuals and families achieve lasting emotional wellness.

I work with adolescents, adults, and couples who are seeking growth, healing, and a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Whether you're navigating life transitions, communication challenges, emotional struggles, or feeling stuck, I strive to create a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore what matters most to you.

My approach is flexible and tailored to each individual or couple. I draw from a variety of therapeutic theories and techniques so that our work together reflects your unique needs, goals, and experiences rather than a one-size-fits all model.

I also bring a level of empathy shaped by my personal experience with motherhood and chronic illness. These experiences have given me a deeper appreciation for the complexities, resilience, and emotional layers that can come with balancing health, identity, and relationships. My goal is not to center my story, but to ensure you feel seen, understood, and supported in yours.

Above all, I believe in the capacity for growth and change. I am here to walk alongside you as you build insight, strength connections, and move toward the life you want to live.
